Kedarkantha Trek

Kedarkantha is one of India’s most accessible high-altitude winter treks. The trail winds through Govind Pashu Vihar’s quiet forests before opening to sweeping ridges and a rewarding 360° summit panorama.

Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Dehradun to Sankri

   Drive into the Jaunsar-Bawar region, brief orientation, and rest before the trail.

2. Day 2

   Sankri to Juda ka Talab

   Gradual ascent through maple and pine; camp near the serene alpine pond.

3. Day 3

   Juda ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base

   Open ridges and first views of the summit; acclimatize at base camp.

4. Day 4

   Summit & return

   Early start for sunrise at the summit; descend toward lower camps.

5. Day 5

   Exit to Sankri

   Forest walk out; celebrate with local warmth and mountain stories.

6. Day 6

   Sankri to Dehradun

   Scenic drive back with drop-off in Dehradun.
